Our Story

With Shrpa, we are all about adventures created by locals, experienced by you. We started almost 2 years ago, right here in our backyard in Rochester, MN. It all started with the idea of building a better way for people to share and discover adventures in their own community and communities around them. 

With social media, and even a simple google search, finding new places usually isn’t a challenge. We knew that the challenge was putting together a plan for where you can explore, and the best way to experience these places - especially when you haven’t been there before. By putting together a plan that tells explorers what they can expect, Shrpa Creators can now be a guide for travelers. By doing the planning for travelers, we can simplify that decision to explore more communities. 

Why Shrpa?

Let’s face it, the only problem with vacations, is planning them! When people have a day off work to get away from their computer, they don’t want to spend 3 hours of that day combing through review sites, blog posts, and “Things to Do” listings.  They need a vacation from that! In fact, 42% of millennials say that planning is one of the biggest stresses of traveling. Like we mentioned earlier, there’s no need for more directories or review sites, instead, travelers want to connect and engage with the communities they’re visiting.

Trying to tell the story of our community is a cumbersome task. Between blog posts, magazine articles, and influencer collaborations, there’s not enough time or resources for communities to effectively execute these strategies. Instead, with the help Tripadvisor and Yelp, communities are letting outdated and disgruntled visitor perspectives drive their community’s narrative.
